In response to a good list published by Entertainment Weekly on the top Best Picture winners of all time, here's my take:
The best Best Picture winners:
1. The Godfather.
2. Casablanca.
3. The Godfather Part II.
4. The Lord of the Rings.
5. The Silence of the Lambs.
6. Unforgiven.
7. The Sound of Music.
8. Amadeus.
9. The Sting.
10. Platoon.
It's lucky that made 10 - the other Best Picture winners are all movies that I haven't watched in many years. And I can't believe Platoon made the list - it has the subtlety of concrete.
